THE HYDROTUS CONSOLE

Perhaps lost to antiquity is “The Floating World”. Ancient Persia, China and Egypt, all supported the idea of intoxicating tranquility and relaxation through the boundless beauty of replicating the natural world and stylizing it. The “Hydrotus Console”, is literally a stream of water. The direction of flow is up to the beholder as each end of the Console is finished with a separate detail, neither the beginning of the flow nor the end. Just below the surface are water lilies ready to emerge upon the surface with their fragrant presence. Yew wood is the exotic floral motif with the body made of cerused white oak. 19” x 72” x 31” high (as pictured).
